Event Description

Dr. Dallas Long, Associate Dean of Milner Library, will present a talk entitled, “Preparing the Qatar National Library for Opening Day:  A Project Sponsored by the Fulbright Specialist Program” at 4:30 p.m. in the Founders Suite at the University Club.  Dr. Long will discuss his experience at the Qatar National Library, sponsored by the Fulbright Specialist program.   He spent four weeks helping the library staff, most of whom had no prior library experience, prepare a new building for its grand opening.   The national library has a 3-part mission of preserving cultural heritage objects, serving the country as the first public library, and meeting the research needs of scholars and students of the nearby Education City.

All faculty, staff, annuitants and guests are welcome to join us at the University Club from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. this Friday in the Founders Suite in the Bone Student Center. You need not be a University Club member to attend. Additional information about U-Club events and activities can be found at our website, http://uclub.illinoisstate.edu/. Continued program support is provided by the Office of the ISU Provost and President. In addition, snacks and liquid refreshments are available at each meeting.

If you will need special accommodations, please contact the event organizer.
